Tim is pleased to learn that the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania has ruled in his favor in an appeal reversing a decision by the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas which overruled his client's objection to a tax sale of real property.

In its decision, the Court held that the Schuylkill County Tax Claim Bureau violated the notice requirements mandated by the Real Estate Tax Sale Law. The Court further concluded that the Bureau’s policy of refusing to accept payments for delinquent taxes after 4:30 p.m. on the Friday preceding the tax sale is unlawful.

Tim is happy that this ruling ensures his client will be able to retain her property.

"My dad has always been a person I've admired both personally and professionally. For 40 years my dad has had the privilege of serving his hometown, the City of Pottsville, with 10 years as City Councilman and another 30 years as City Solicitor. Like many in local government, he put himself in the public eye and didn't run away from being the target of the various criticisms that comes with a public service job. My dad has been loyal to the City of Pottsville and has served with different mayors and numerous members of council, both Democrat and Republican. During good times and turbulant times, my dad's passion for serving the City of Pottsville never wavered.
Last night my family and I got to join my dad for his last City Council meeting. We are very proud of all the work he's done for the City he loves, but we all understood when he decided it was his time to step away.
Great work, Dad! We are proud of you."
