A fatwa is not a casual religious opinion.
It is a non-binding legal opinion given by a qualified m***i in response to a real question or situation.
This matters because Islamic law is not applied in the abstract. A m***i must understand the legal tradition, the principles behind it, and the lived reality of the person asking.
A fatwa sits between theory and application.
It brings Islamic legal knowledge into conversation with context, without violating the principles of Islam.
That is why serious questions require serious scholarship.
