14-Count Indictment Dismissed ⚖️
A significant legal victory was achieved in a felony jury trial that commenced this week, culminating in the dismissal of all charges against my client. This dismissal came after the attachment of double jeopardy, thereby precluding any further prosecution.
My client faced charges that had an aggregate possible sentence, had the client been convicted, would have been up to 70.5 years, inclusive of indefinite sentencing possibilities (but excluding any potential merger).
The key factor behind this dismissal was meticulous preparation and strategic approach. Upon empaneling the jury and the attachment of double jeopardy, my office strategically filed motions that we believe would have led to the exclusion of key evidence, prompting the prosecution to promptly dismiss all charges. The jury never even got to hear the first piece of evidence after being sworn in.
