The reason why I do real estate — Part 3.
Today turned into one of the most memorable days I’ve had as a realtor.
Yesterday, during my usual routine of door-knocking for this weekend’s open house, I came across a home with a sign that said:
“No Soliciting… unless you are dropping off a mocha, a bottle of whiskey, or here to do my laundry.”
Usually, when I see a “No Soliciting” sign, I simply leave a flyer and move on.But for some reason, this one made my day.
So after leaving a flyer at their porch, I stopped by the grocery store and decided to come back the next day with a mocha and a bottle of whiskey.
Today, before the open house, I rang their doorbell.
From inside the house, they said:“We’re not interested — we have a no soliciting sign.”
Honestly… a very expected response. 😂
But this time, I knew they’d at least come to the door.
The moment I held up the bottles through the window, they started laughing. The husband came outside, and we ended up having one of the most natural and genuine conversations I’ve had in a while.
I wasn’t there to “sell” anything.I gave him my business card, we chatted for a bit, and that was it.
But moments like this remind me why I enjoy real estate so much.
