Today the Oregon Supreme Court adopted much of the reasoning from the amicus brief authored by Sarah Feldman (for the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association) in a case under Oregon’s Family Abuse Prevention Act, which allows survivors of domestic violence to seek a restraining order against their abusers. The Oregon Supreme Court held that there was sufficient evidence in the record to establish that the petitioner was in imminent danger of further abuse, reversing the Court of Appeals. It is a victory for survivors around the state. We are proud of the pro bono work that our lawyers do in the community and in court.
