Most buyers looking at Venice Beach don't know this is happening.

The Army Corps of Engineers just awarded a $27 million contract to restore 3.2 miles of critically eroded Venice shoreline. It's 100% federally funded and starts mid-June. Sand is being dredged from 11 miles offshore and placed from Venice Inlet south to the fishing pier — replacing what erosion and two hurricane seasons took out since 2015.

For buyers near the coast, the practical takeaway is this: the project is specifically designed to protect upland properties and infrastructure. A restored shoreline acts as a buffer for everything behind it.

Rolling closures of 1,000 to 1,500 foot beach sections during active work. Mostly open throughout. Done by October.

Worth knowing before your first showing.
