Here's some important information about the homestead exemption for buyers who purchased a primary residence in 2025-if you missed the April 1 deadline to file for homestead, you can still apply for homestead (and Stephens-Day, which automatically kicks in when you get homestead-no separate application) until JULY 31, 2026, and have your homestead become effective in 2026.

To all of our friends in the real estate industry, Governor Kemp has lifted the State of Emergency for our area. Pursuant to the SAR contract, this means that the automatic 8 day extension will stop being in effect, BUT, it still applies to any pending contract during the State of Emergency (meaning there is, at most, an automatic 8 day extension from today on all pending contracts.).
