What if kids learned about money before they even reached high school?

Dan Petroskey, Esq. talks about the value of programs that teach young people practical life skills that traditional schooling may not always cover.

Imagine being 12, 13, or 14 and already learning how to open a bank account, understand high-interest savings accounts, and make informed financial decisions.

Dan didn’t learn some of these lessons until he was in his 30s, which makes seeing young people gain these skills early even more meaningful.

He also shares why he feels optimistic about the next generation. Despite the challenges they face, he believes today’s kids are smart, capable, and more prepared than we may realize.

Here is something they definitely do not teach in law school.

A medical record can be perfectly complete, entirely accurate, and still completely mislead you.

Not because anyone lied. Because what is missing from a chart is often where the real story lives. The assessment that was never done. The intervention that was skipped with no explanation. The two-hour gap between when symptoms started and when anyone responded, which looks like nothing to someone trained in law and looks like negligence to someone trained in nursing.

I have spent years inside those charts. Writing them, reading them, and knowing the difference between documentation that reflects good care and documentation that is quietly working overtime to make bad care look fine.

That is a skill you build at the bedside at two in the morning, not at a continuing education seminar with decent coffee and a certificate of attendance.

When you bring me onto your litigation team, you get someone who speaks fluent medical record. The subtext, the omissions, the timing, the clinical red flags buried on page 47 of a 300-page chart that your opposing counsel is hoping you never find.
