Long-term care facilities and nursing homes for the elderly are some of the worst perpetrators of medical malpractice and medical negligence. To make matters worse, many of the residents who reside at these facilities are incapable of advocating for themselves to ensure they get the care they need. There are of course great facilities out there, but it is important to remember that we all need to work together to make sure the elderly and handicapped individuals who reside in these facilities are being cared for appropriately. A federal review of 2016 hospital claims showed facilities need to do a better job of reporting potential cases of neglect, a new reported said.
