Over 40 years providing lending and cost-free coaching services to the business community. In 1992, Prestamos acquired the U.S.

Founded in 1980 as a subsidiary of Chicanos Por La Causa, Prestamos is committed to promoting business and community development by providing access to capital through non-traditional small business financing. We are both a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and Community Development Entity (CDE), providing high quality small business loans and technical support services to clients throughout Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and California. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Microloan Pilot Program and became Arizona’s first SBA Microlender. In 2000 Prestamos CDFI, LLC was formalized due to the success of our loan programs and the continued need and demand for these services in our communities. Today, we celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day.

We also celebrate Indigenous entrepreneurs, who are often creating businesses that address their community needs, creating jobs, and are catalysts for economic opportunities.

One such business is Ahehee’ Shidine’e Homecare LLC, a Native-owned business elevating homecare for elders in their community through a culturally responsive approach and immense compassion.

With support from Prestamos and the Women’s Business Center, founder Vanessa Tullie was able to with a business advisor to gain education, resources, clarity and confidence she needed to grow and expand her business.

$0.54 Cents on the Dollar. That is the average pay discrepancy Latinas in the workforce face.

According to Equal Pay Today, this gap can result in a loss exceeding $1.2 million over a 40-year career for Latinas working full-time, year-round.

At CPLC and Prestamos, we’re working to eliminate disparities and build pathways for financial independence through entrepreneurship, advocacy and awareness.

When Marisleydi lost her job due to budget cuts, she and her husband, Irais, decided it was time to pursue the business they had been dreaming about. With support from Prestamos CDFI, they developed their business plan, strengthened their financial projections, and secured funding to launch their food truck business, Marantha I&M.

Today, they’re serving traditional Cuban cuisine and sharing their culture with their community! 🇨🇺
