The strength of your custody case comes from what you can clearly document and support.
When parents come to us with a custody dispute, they usually know their family's history very well. Meaning they can tell us the basics of who takes the child to school, schedules doctor's appointments, attends activities, and communicates with teachers.
There are also things that may be much harder to talk about: the threatening messages, the unsettling behavior at exchanges, the missed parenting time, or the decisions being made without them.
But there is a big difference between knowing what happened because you were there and being able to prove what happened to the court.
That is why documentation matters.
Arizona courts determine legal decision-making and parenting time based on the child's best interests.
Your goal is to give the court a clear, credible picture of your child’s life, your role in it, and why your proposed parenting plan is workable for your child and their needs.
