While everyone feels “blue” occasionally, depression is different. When you are depressed you feel sad much of the time. You lose interest in doing normal activities, or it takes a lot of effort just to do routine chores. You may have insomnia or feel like sleeping much of the day. Some people lose their appetite; others overeat. Concentration can be affected, such that making simple decisions is difficult. Of course, depression affects relationships with spouses, other family members and friends.

Treatment is available that helps the majority of patients suffering from depression. This generally consists of counseling and medications.

A scheduled workers’ compensation injury in Arizona is one for which Arizona law provides for a specific dollar amount based upon the doctor’s impairment rating of the affected body part.

Unscheduled injuries, such as back and neck injuries, are compensated on the basis of loss of earning capacity. There is usualy substantial disagreement with the insurance company in such cases. Experienced legal counsel is often necessary to establish the loss of an injured worker and to best refute the defenses to payment that insurance companies usually make.
