We've gotten some variation of that question from so many people we finally decided to put my thoughts into an article.

The short answer is no, it's not as bad as they're saying. It's worse.

On Friday, the Maricopa County Attorney's Office dismissed the LAST protest case from 2020's uprising for Black liberation, WITH prejudice. That makes 39 cases, 39 political prosecutions, 39 so-called "mistakes" that cops and prosecutors made in a row. And yet Allister Adel continues to deny her role in orchestrating this mass violation of so many people's rights for her own political gain.

The harm Adel, her office, and Phoenix police have caused is inexcusable and the time for accountability begins now. These people lied under oath, fabricated evidence, and colluded to lock away their critics.

There's nothing left to do but now Allister. You're not fit to hold any office in the country, let alone Arizona.

Today our firm is shutting down our legal work to focus on the work of democracy. Our staff is calling our clients (many of whom have been physically and financially decimated by injuries) to make sure they have rides to the polls.

The politicians, judges, and ballot initiatives at stake today affect all of us -- and they affect the sick, injured, disenfranchised and dispossessed disproportionately. We can't accept a country where this is allowed, and are trying to do our part to change it.

For the last two years, we have been fighting for justice of an innocent woman, wrongfully convicted of a crime she never committed. There have been no shortage of moments where I've worried about whether we're doing enough. And, what will happen to her with each additional day, week, and month she spends in a place she was never supposed to be. On April 19, 2018, Dominique delivered a Tedx Talk that made very clear that these moments worrying have been totally unnecessary. Yes, justice requires that she be released. But, there isn't a prison on earth that can cage her spirit.
