Some exciting news! Phocus Law, Financial, and Insurance are joining OneDigital. We've been working on this for the better part of a year and are happy to be able to share it publicly at this time! This is amazing for so many reasons, including the access we'll have to more powerful tools to employ on behalf of our clients, a larger platform through which to provide our services, greater growth opportunities for our team, and having access and fellowship with a network of professionals throughout the country. Most importantly will be that our clients will get an even deeper and more potent level of professional service.

Phocus Law's closing and formal joinder to OneDigital is pending regulatory approval, which we expect to occur within the coming months.

If you are making donations -
1) general school supplies - think pencils, PE equipment, art supplies, etc etc etc.
2) if you’d rather make a cash or check payment, we have the Phocus On The Community 501c3 set up so they are charitable donations for your tax purposes. Just find me tomorrow and I’ll get you squared away. We will use all of the cash donations to buy items from each of the beneficiary schools’ lists they sent us.

There’s no charge to bring your car, enjoy the event, etc so please feel welcome to bring the family out for a beautiful morning.

Merry Christmas Eve, friends and clients. A quick BOIR update - IMPORTANT. Below is the email blast we sent out to our clients this morning.

Hi All!

It’s a Christmas miracle. After a day of general confusion (and some sweating on the Phocus Law Team’s part) resulting from the 5th Circuit’s decision to reinstate the December 31 Beneficial Ownership Interest reporting deadline, FinCEN announced this morning that all reports that would have been due on December 31 are now extended to January 13, 2025. This gives us some time after the holidays to get all of your reports completed. TLDR: BOIR reports are once again being enforced, but the enforcement deadline has been extended to January 13, 2025 for all entities that were previously due on December 31, 2024.

What this means for you: If you had already begun the process with us, and had received the request from Porter for your information (or had already returned your information), please pick back up exactly where you left off. If you are awaiting our fee agreement, or if you’ve already sent back our fee agreement and information and are now awaiting our invoice, we will be in touch with the next step. If the ball is in your court and you are supposed to be providing us with information or documentation, please get that over at your first convenience.

If you missed the opportunity to get in on having Phocus Law complete your BOIR by not responding back in November, we are re-opening the door. The fee to have us complete this process for you, if you had not already responded, is $450 per entity for the first owner and $125 for each additional owner to be reported. If you would like to have Phocus Law complete your BOIR reporting, and have not already done so, please respond to this email, making sure that [email protected] is copied, and we will help you begin the process.

Please note – we are going to try to find some time to enjoy the holidays with our families, so will be kicking reporting into high gear once the new year hits. You may hear from us over the next week, but if you do not, don’t worry – we will have all reports completed by January 13, as long as you have timely provided us the information needed.

IMPORTANT: For your information regarding FinCEN's BOIR CTA reporting, here's the email we sent out to clients this morning:

Hi all,

If you have not already heard, a federal district court in Texas issued a ruling yesterday on a BOIR case that included an injunction against enforcement, essentially a statement that enforcement of the Beneficial Ownership Interest Reporting requirements would be halted nationwide. The court does have the authority to do this, but the district court’s decision and injunction are able to be appealed, which we expect will happen.

We expect a statement from FinCEN to be issued in the next 24-48 hours clarifying their position on enforcement, and hopefully indicating that no further action is needed by filers. Once that has been issued, we will update you further. However, in the meantime, we are not moving forward with generating invoices or reporting.
