E-Verify has resumed operations, despite the government shutdown. Employers who use E-Verify must create an E-Verify case by Tuesday, October 14, 2025 for all employees hired during the time period that E-Verify was not available.

For heat safety, a new law provides that construction activity is allowed from 5:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday through Friday and 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturdays from May 1 to October 15. Concrete work may start one hour earlier. The law takes effect immediately. Counties and municipalities may not make or enforce any ordinance that would prohibit general construction activities during those hours.
