Flock cameras and other surveillance technologies are raising important questions about privacy, transparency, and how law enforcement uses video footage.

But there's another side to the conversation. For personal injury attorneys, surveillance footage can be critical evidence in determining what happened after an accident. Too often, that footage is deleted or becomes unavailable before it can be preserved.

Troy Crichton shares his perspective on why access to surveillance footage matters, not just for law enforcement, but also for individuals seeking accountability through the civil justice system.

A 3-year-old girl has died and her mother is fighting for her life after a fast-moving fire caused by the lithium-ion battery of an "e-bike" igniting in the home.

Lithium-ion batteries have caused hundreds of fast-moving and hard to contain fires across the nation, killing or injuring dozens if not hundreds of people. In Pennsylvania, manufacturers and sellers of e-bikes have been sued for failing to properly make their products safe.

These batteries can ignite even when properly used due to being improperly designed or for failing to include necessary instructions and cautions about what can make them ignite. Our firm has recovered over $100 million for families who were injured due to the negligence and recklessness, including lawsuits against product designers, manufacturers and sellers of defective and dangerous products.

Call our firm at 215-933-0666 or visit www.hardencrichton.com for a free consultation if you believe you or a loved one were injured or believe that you need a qualified attorney to review the facts of your case to determine if a lawsuit can be filed on your behalf.

A serious crash can leave multiple families facing injuries, medical bills, and uncertainty about what comes next.

Following the October 3 multi-vehicle crash on West Chester Pike in Havertown, an important question for injured drivers is whether enough insurance coverage is available to compensate everyone affected.

In Pennsylvania, underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage may provide additional compensation when the at-fault driver's insurance is not enough to cover your losses.

Our latest blog explains how UIM coverage works, why insurance limits matter in multi-vehicle accidents, and what injured drivers should know about protecting their rights.

Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this tragic crash.

Filing a medical malpractice lawsuit does not necessarily mean you believe your doctor is a bad physician.

Philadelphia is home to some of the country’s leading hospitals and specialists, and patients with complex medical conditions may have longstanding relationships with the doctors caring for them. That can make the decision to investigate a possible medical error incredibly difficult.

Good doctors can make negligent decisions. When one mistake results in a catastrophic injury, patients deserve the opportunity to understand what happened and whether the standard of care was met.

An experienced Philadelphia medical malpractice lawyer can help investigate complex medical care while guiding patients and families through the difficult questions that come with pursuing a claim.

Could your driving habits make you a target of police surveillance, even if you haven't broken the law?

A recent Texas jury verdict is raising important questions about Flock cameras, automated license plate readers, and Fourth Amendment rights.

After surveillance technology flagged a driver's travel patterns as suspicious, a traffic stop led to a federal jury finding that his constitutional rights had been violated.

What could this case mean for Pennsylvania drivers? Read our latest blog to learn more about government surveillance, privacy rights, and police accountability.

A major Supreme Court ruling has changed the landscape of freight broker liability in commercial truck accident cases.

In Montgomery v. Caribe Transport II, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act does not prevent certain state-law negligent hiring claims against freight brokers. The decision resolved a split among federal courts and clarified that brokers are not automatically shielded from liability when their choice of a motor carrier allegedly contributes to a crash.

For people injured in commercial truck accidents, this ruling could provide another path toward holding responsible parties accountable.

Kevin Harden Jr. was recently quoted by the Daily Mail in its coverage of a Texas case raising important questions about Flock surveillance cameras, license plate readers, and Fourth Amendment rights.

“All Americans should be worried about indiscriminate government surveillance,” Kevin told the Daily Mail.

The article examines the case of Alek Schott, who was awarded $76 after a federal jury found that a Texas sheriff’s deputy violated his constitutional rights during a traffic stop. The case also revealed how a network of surveillance cameras and law enforcement communications played a role in identifying Schott before the stop.

As Kevin explained, law enforcement can investigate information it receives, but an anonymous tip alone is not enough to obtain a warrant without additional facts supporting a reasonable belief that a specific crime has occurred or is occurring.
