FYI: Philadelphia Landlords & Business Owners.

Starting in 2026, the City is phasing out two major tax exemptions:
⚠️ The $100K Business Income & Receipts Tax (BIRT) exemption
⚠️ The $2K Use & Occupancy Tax exemption

These changes could increase what you owe, especially if you own commercial property or run a business in Philly.

The good news: tax rates are also being gradually reduced through 2039, and the City is investing $30 million/year in small business grants, education, and tax prep support.
