We were honored to celebrate our Co-Managing Partner, Mark Tanner, last night as he received the prestigious Michael A. Musmanno Award from the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association.

The evening was a meaningful celebration of Mark’s career, commitment to justice, and dedication to protecting the rights of those he represents. Our Shareholder, Ezra Wohlgelernter, provided a fascinating history of Michael A. Musmanno and shared the significance and legacy of this distinguished award.

Mark was warmly introduced by heartfelt remarks from his fellow Co-Managing Partner, Alan Feldman, and Shareholder John Dodig, who reflected on Mark’s character, accomplishments, and contributions to the legal community.

In his acceptance address, Mark graciously thanked the many people who have supported and inspired him throughout his career, including his wife, Kathy, and his children, Katie and Ned. His words were a powerful reminder of the responsibility we share as advocates to stand up for justice and to continue defending our fundamental right to due process.

We are incredibly proud of Mark and grateful to the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association for recognizing his dedication to the profession and to the pursuit of justice. Congratulations, Mark, on this well-deserved honor!

The zone was selected due to data showing a concentration of serious injuries, pedestrian crashes and speeding in the area.

More speed cameras will soon be watching drivers in Northeast Philadelphia.

Existing law already bars lay people from representing themselves as registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, and licensed practical nurses — including through their abbreviations — but does not place the same restriction on the title “nurse.”

Legislation would expand the prohibition on representing oneself as a nurse to include the generic term, rather than just licensed positions.

We’re proud to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Philadelphia VIP and its enduring commitment to expanding access to justice throughout our community.

We were especially honored to celebrate alongside our attorney Bethany Nikitenko, who serves as a volunteer and Vice President of Philadelphia VIP’s Board of Directors. She was joined by her client who spoke at the anniversary event, sharing her personal experience and the difference Philadelphia VIP makes in the lives of individuals and families.

For 45 years, Philadelphia VIP has connected people in need with volunteer attorneys, helping ensure that access to legal representation is not limited by a person’s ability to pay. We’re grateful for the organization’s leadership, its dedicated volunteers, and the countless lives touched by its work.

Mark Schork, Chair of the Pro Bono Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers’ Division, helped organize an event bringing together young lawyers and law students to learn more about the important work of the Public Interest Law Center.

Brent Landau, Executive Director of the Center, joined colleagues to discuss their high-impact litigation, share insights from their work, and highlight opportunities for young lawyers and law students to get involved in public interest law.

We’re proud of Mark’s commitment to fostering meaningful connections between the legal community and organizations doing impactful work, and to creating opportunities for the next generation of lawyers to engage in pro bono and public interest service.

Congratulations to Philadelphia VIP on 45 years of connecting volunteer attorneys with Philadelphians in need of legal assistance!

We’re proud to recognize our partner, Bethany Nikitenko, who spoke before Philadelphia City Council in support of a resolution commemorating this important achievement. Bethany is a longtime Philadelphia VIP volunteer and serves on its Board of Directors as Vice President. Her dedication to expanding access to justice and supporting the organization’s mission is truly inspiring.

We also extend our thanks to Councilmember Rue Landau for spearheading the resolution and recognizing Philadelphia VIP’s 45 years of service to the Philadelphia community.
