Whew! A federal lawsuit has been filed against Bryn Mawr Women’s College and a former professor of the institution. A 22 year old woman listed anonymously in the lawsuit as, “Jane Doe,” alleges the professor sexually assaulted her amongst other students. She says this incident occurred in June of 2019, after the professor took her and another student on a celebratory night out after completing a successful semester.

Shortly after taking them home to their Center City apartment, he reappeared with a bottle of wine from the nearby liquor store-- with knowledge of the fact that both women were underage at the time. Yet, the other student asked Jane to let him in through the back entrance. After doing so, the night shortly took a turn for the worse. Jane reports that he began touching her sexually without her consent and used vulgar language towards her. Unacceptable! Soon after the incident occurred, Jane told her mother. They reported it to the school and a coordinator organized a meeting between both parties. Guess what? The professor didn’t show. Instead, he called asking what the basis of the meeting was and if he could bring his attorney. Shortly after, he put in his resignation. The lawsuit states that multiple other women reported him to the school, yet he was still there teaching. Hmmmm.

No one deserves to be violated. If you or anyone you know has faced this sort of trauma, please don’t hesitate to call our office so that justice may be served.
