GALLOP (Gay and Le***an Lawyers of Philadelphia) was formed in 1986 as the Philadelphia Attorneys for Human Rights (PAHR), an organization of LGBT legal professionals serving the Philadelphia metropolitan area. By vote of membership in 2019, GALLOP changed its name to the Philadelphia LGBTQ Bar Association. Our purpose is to advocate for and promote the civil and human rights of the LGBTQ communit

y; to improve access to LGBTQ attorneys; and to improve and enhance business opportunities, advancement and employment of our membership. We are supported entirely by our members, donors, and other private contributors.

Today, the Philadelphia LGBTQ Bar Association and the Independence Business Alliance jointly issued the below press statement applauding the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on its passage yesterday of House Bill 300, known as the Pennsylvania Fairness Act, which would extend protections to + Pennsylvanians in employment, housing & public accommodations.

Together, we urge the Pennsylvania Senate to swiftly pass HB 300 and send the bill to Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro for his signature.
