Dear Valued Client,
At Woodwee Financial Services, we believe in transparency and keeping our clients informed throughout the tax preparation process.
One common misconception is that tax preparers receive or control client refunds. We want to clarify how the refund process works.
When we prepare and electronically file your tax return, we calculate your estimated federal and state refund amounts based on the information and documents you provide. However, these amounts are estimates until they are reviewed and approved by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and/or your state tax agency.
Once your return is submitted, the IRS and state taxing authorities conduct their own review. During this process, they may:
• Verify income reported by employers and financial institutions
• Review tax credits and deductions claimed
• Check for past-due tax balances, child support, student loans, or other government debts that may offset a refund
• Request additional information if needed
Because of this review process, the final refund amount approved by the IRS or state agency may differ from the amount shown on your tax return.
It is also important to understand that Woodwee Financial Services never receives, holds, controls, or has access to your tax refund. Your refund is issued directly by the IRS and/or state tax agency to the bank account or mailing address listed on your tax return.
Additionally, we do not control:
• When your refund is processed
• When funds are deposited into your account
• Whether your refund is delayed for additional review
• Any adjustments made by the IRS or state agency
• Any offsets applied to your refund for outstanding debts
For the most current information regarding your federal refund, we recommend using the IRS “Where’s My Refund?” tool or contacting the appropriate state tax agency directly.
We appreciate the trust you place in Woodwee Financial Services. Our responsibility is to accurately prepare and file your tax return based on the information provided. The approval, processing, and distribution of refunds are handled solely by the taxing authorities.
If you have any questions regarding your tax return, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for choosing Woodwee Financial Services.
Sincerely,
Woodwee Financial Services
