Jalen Hurts continues to show the leadership you hope to find in your quarterback both on and off the field.

Seeing the incident Sunday immediately drew my mind to numerous cases our firm has handled involving safety at entertainment venues and arenas, including the collapse at Veteran Stadium during Army-Navy years ago and, more recently, the railing collapse at the BB&T concert venue. Both of those incidents resulted in catastrophic and severe injuries.

We can only hope that Washington, and every sports or entertainment stadium, arena or venue, takes an opportunity to reflect on the safety at their arenas and inspect/make changes that can prevent incidents like this past Sunday from happening.

Unfortunately, often times it takes severe injuries resulting in a lawsuit for changes to be made but I am glad to see that our Eagles QB is leading from the front and calling for and putting pressure for change before a lawsuit needs to be filed.

After a railing collapse at FedEx Field barely missed Hurts, he's asking what safeguards are being implemented so that it doesn't happen again.

. I’ve never done one of these before but flashing back to this day one year ago, when I graduated from the Temple LL.M. in Trial Advocacy (with honors) not at the Liacouras Center in a cap and gown but at home, on zoom, and in a flamingo shirt with a linen suit!

Shout out to Saltz Mongeluzzi & Bendesky, P.C. for their complete support, guidance and mentorship in pursuing this Masters degree.

(Fun fact: Our firm has more lawyers with Masters Degrees in Trial Advocacy than any other firm in the country. And maybe world?)

I wonder if they will let me wear the flamingo shirt and suit combo to the office once we open back up?

A half dozen lawsuits were filed in federal courts in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and California on April 30 against the manufacturers and marketers of Paraquat, a herbicide allegedly linked to developing Parkinson's disease.

Jeffrey Goodman predicts that mass lawsuits blaming Paraquat for increasing the risk of getting Parkinson's disease would soon follow.

He says "These filings are only the tip of the iceberg with what is expected to be the next major mass tort. The manufacturers of Paraquat knew for decades that their product was linked to Parkinson’s disease yet chose to hide this information from regulators and the public."

Saltz Mongeluzzi & Bendesky, P.C. is the leading law firm representing victims of electrical accidents in the Philadelphia region.

UNMATCHED EXPERIENCE
Our electrical accident attorneys represent victims of the most common types of catastrophic electrocutions and electrical accidents, including:

• Cranes contacting a high-voltage line
• Workers contacting overhead power lines obscured by
trees
• Excavation equipment operators digging into
underground electrical lines
• High voltage switch gears failing

UNMATCHED KNOWLEDGE
Robert J. Mongeluzzi leads our team of highly experienced electrical accident attorneys. He is the founder and chairman of the Electrical Accident Group of the American Association of Justice that trains lawyers across the country to represent the victims of such accidents. Bob also writes and lectures extensively on the topic of electrical accidents.

Electrical cases are complex and challenging. Often there are no witnesses, and forensic evidence is sparse at best. Electric shock victims do not always exhibit clear burn patterns, and critical evidence disappears once the utility restores power.

SM&B has the insight and experience to reconstruct electrical incidents. To each case we bring an in-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, the National Electrical Safety Code, NFPA 70E, as well as state codes, life safety codes and local building codes. We combine our industry knowledge with a deep familiarity with the life-altering injuries that contact with high-voltage electricity can cause–brain injuries, neurological, muscular and vascular damage, external and internal burns, disfigurement and amputations.

UNMATCHED COMPENSATION
Public utilities, contractors and utility customers that operate their own high-voltage systems may all be liable for electrocutions and electric shock injuries. SM&B’s lawyers will guide you through the litigation process and help you get all the compensation to which you may be entitled–including compensation for pain and suffering, emotional trauma, medical costs, lost income and future earnings.

If you have been injured–or a family member has been injured or killed–as a result of an electrical accident, SM&B is committed to obtaining the results you need and deserve.
