Penn Law School Entertainment and Sports Law Society

Penn Law School Entertainment and Sports Law Society Penn Law ESLS is a student group dedicated to exploring the legal, business, and ethical issues that arise in the sports and entertainment industries.

The University of Pennsylvania Law School Entertainment and Sports Law Society (ESLS) is the sole entirely student-run organization at one of the nation’s premier legal institutions dedicated to exploring the legal, business, and ethical issues that arise in the sports and entertainment industries. Throughout the year ESLS offers a wide array of events aimed at exposing students to meaningful and

current topics in these fields. Issues discussed include labor and collective bargaining, contract law and negotiations, intellectual property, and civil rights. ESLS facilitates an ongoing dialogue among members and the Penn Law community through guest speakers, panels, and as of February 28, 2014 an annual Sports Law Symposium. In addition to its academic mission, ESLS is equally committed to providing opportunities for students to network and interact with professionals working in sports and entertainment. ESLS also offers members essential guidance on obtaining internships and jobs in these traditionally difficult-to-enter industries. In the short term ESLS strives to foster continued interest in sports, entertainment, and the law among Penn Law students; in the long term ESLS aims to become one of the nation’s preeminent resources on these subjects for academics and practicing attorneys alike.
