Most of us know it's a good idea to exchange information with the other driver after a car crash. But what if the other driver takes off? Here are some suggestions on dealing with a hit-and-run accident.

• Pay attention to the fleeing vehicle and take notes.
• Do not try to follow the hit-and-run driver.
• Check for injuries.
• Call 911.
• Document as much as you can.
• Seek medical attention.
• Inform your insurance company.
