🌱 🌳 Why choose Wildlife Nurseries? 🌰 ☘️

1) Our trees are grown in air-pruning containers that assist in promoting a fibrous root system. This root system encourages more nutrient uptake promoting faster growth. The containers are much more expensive than typical growing containers, but we want great trees and so do our customers.

2) Our proprietary soil mixture has been carefully crafted through research, testing, and laboratory analysis. In short, we start our seeds in soil that is highly nutritious and promotes exceptional early growth that puts our tree on a path to outpace growth that is considered “normal”.

3) Exceptional genetics from parent trees. Not all trees are the same and therefore, not all seeds are the same. Over time, we have identified trees with preferred healthy characteristics that also grow quickly. This means from the very beginning, we select high quality acorns that have great genetics, foregoing random results of seeds.

4) Fair pricing. A quick glance at competitors’ websites and Facebook marketplace will reveal many sellers charging 50-200% higher prices on trees half to a third the size and with poor root systems, making transplant success lower. We grow trees because we enjoy growing them. Our day to day lives and bills are supported by other sources of income. This allows us to keep pricing low for customers as profit margins are not a motivating factor in our business model. We simply enjoy taking seeds and growing healthy trees 🤷🏼‍♂️ 🌱 🌰

Each year, we experiment with different growing techniques. Our goal, to achieve a robust and fibrous root system that translates in to faster growing trees. The first Chickasaw Plums we’ve ever grown have sprouted. These trees produce a very sweet fruit that have high levels of carbohydrates and vitamins. They provide a desired food source for deer and other wildlife from late summer through early fall. The shrubby low lying branches assist in forming thickets that enhance cover and bedding areas for deer. They also make a colorful spring tree for your yard. These will be ready for planting late summer. 🌱 🦌

First order of trees for this fall getting picked up tomorrow. This repeat customer is driving 2 hours to pick up 8 Dunstan Chestnuts and 4 Burr Oaks because they had great success with the ones they purchased last year.
