MAINTENANCE MONDAY: Here is another essential apartment maintenance tip to keep your home safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Pests can quickly become a nuisance if left unchecked. To keep your apartment pest-free:
• Take out the trash regularly and keep lids tightly closed.
• Store food in sealed containers and wipe down counters after meals.
• Do not leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight.
• Avoid leaving pet food out overnight.
• Check for gaps around windows, doors, and pipes. Consider using a door draft blocker, which not only helps block drafts and light from coming in under the door, it can also help prevent pests, noise and smells as well.
• Promptly report any pests seen to the Leasing Office and be sure to comply with routine pest control services scheduled for your apartment.
• Be wary of purchasing used furniture or household appliances without thoroughly examining items for active pests or droppings indicative of pest infestation.
• Use protective covers that prevent bed bugs and dust mites from infesting your mattress.
