Who says lawyer ads can’t protect the community?

Thank you to Ben Galecki for tagging us and sharing this picture! Our hearts are with everyone impacted by Hurricane Isaias. We know many in our community are facing a difficult road to recovery, and we’re keeping everyone affected in our thoughts.

We’re offering 20 of our old billboard vinyls to those affected by the hurricane who need a tarp to protect their homes (limit 2 per person). If you or someone you know could use one, please email [email protected] to arrange pickup at our office on Palafox in downtown Pensacola.

We’re also challenging other businesses and advertisers in the area to offer their old billboard vinyls to those who need them as our community recovers from the storm.

Part 1: Amanda Lyman v. Allen William Bell

From time to time, a case cannot be resolved through settlement and must be decided by a jury. That is where we are with Amanda Lyman v. Allen William Bell, a pedestrian-versus-vehicle case arising from a crash on Perdido Key Drive near River Road.

According to our client’s allegations, Ms. Lyman was in a crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Mr. Bell. We allege the crash caused a brain injury as well as lower-back disc herniations and extrusions. The defense disputes this claim.

Jury selection is currently scheduled for Monday, October 12, before Judge Pitre. However, another older case is ahead of ours on the trial calendar, so we may not know until later this week whether the trial will proceed as scheduled.

Like all of our posts related to cases, the information provided here is one side of the lawsuit. Every party is entitled to make their own argument, and we would never suggest anyone should make any final decisions only hearing one side of the story. Follow along for more updates as this case progresses and as preparations continue for trial next week.

The safety of our athletes, volunteers, staff, and our community has to come before race day. We’re grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to make this event possible and to all the athletes who were ready to race.

It is with great disappointment that we must announce the cancellation of the 2026 Zarzaur Law Santa Rosa Island Triathlon due to the potential impacts of Invest 92, which has the potential to develop into a named tropical storm.

The safety of our athletes, volunteers, staff, and community must always come first. Given the uncertainty and potential for dangerous weather conditions in our area, we believe cancellation is the responsible decision.

All registered athletes have been emailed regarding details.

🚨 Florida Drivers: Know the new crash law

The property-damage threshold has increased from $500 to $2,000, but that doesn’t mean you should wait to call law enforcement after a crash.

Without an official crash report, important evidence about what happened and who was at fault may be harder to establish. That can become especially important in Florida, where the law now limits recovery when someone is found more than 50% at fault.

If you’re involved in a crash and there’s any damage or potential for injury, call law enforcement and have the crash documented. You may not know the true extent of the damage at the scene.

Race weekend is on, just one weekend later! 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃

The Santa Rosa Island Triathlon & Sea Turtle Triathlon have been moved to October 10th & 11th due to the weather forecast.

Good news though! The registration has reopened with about 50 spots available for the Santa Rosa Island Triathlon! If you missed out before, this is your chance to get in. Registration is open through Monday, October 5th or until the race fills up.

Get ready for a fun weekend on the beach! There’s plenty to look forward to with awesome race shirts, bike bags, finisher medals, special age-group awards, and plenty of race-day excitement for athletes, families, and volunteers!

CASE UPDATE:

Today, we took the deposition of the in-hospital pathologist involved in Mr. Bryan’s case. He testified that he was tasked with determining whether the tissue removed was the spleen or the liver, did his job, notified the hospital, and that the hospital ultimately reported it to the medical examiner.

Dr. Shaknovsky was filling out reports indicating that this was a death from a splenic aneurysm. That’s the contradiction in the case that we have and one of the issues that the jury will have to resolve.

Like all of our posts related to cases, the information provided here is one side of the lawsuit. No one in our community should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Today, we were honored to present a $1,390 donation to Manna Food Pantries to support their work providing food and resources to individuals and families facing hunger in our community.

We represent a client who was allegedly videotaped without their knowledge in a bathroom at Walmart Supercenter #528 in Bradenton, Florida.

According to the allegations in the arrest report, a Walmart employee, Terry Mobley III, allegedly recorded people inside the bathroom over a period of several months, including while they were using the restroom. The allegations include that Mobley III was pleasuring himself while videoing customers in the process of using the bathroom.

He was later arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. We are trying to identify anyone else who may have been recorded without their knowledge during this time.

If you were at this Walmart between June 2025 and the summer of 2026 and believe you may have information about what happened, we want to hear from you.

Please remember all criminal defendants are entitled to a presumption of innocence until they are convicted of a crime.
