I listened to a wonderful Conference talk from 1971 by Spencer Kimball . His talk was defining the last days and declaring we are in them " for men will be lovers of the flesh " . Perversion will be rampant and encouraged. Religious leaders wink at same s*x marriages, people living together out of wed lock. Debauchery polluting home , families, and societies. Today I hear ministers soft peddling those practices that led to S***m and Gomorrah to be incinerated. Mankind no longer fear God. Like Korihor with silver tongue until it is too late and he struck dumb. And his fate was not nice.
I guess July is our repentance theme in our Sacrament Meeting talks.
Yes it is an ongoing process that teaches us to lay aside worldly habits and turn to Christ. There comes a time when one seeking answers come up against his own habits and is pricked by the Holy Ghost. Some call it a come to Jesus moment. It is a hinge point.
Repentance sometimes is uncomfortable. But there is a peace that comes with it. Love and the light of Christ brings new life to our souls.
Don't be afraid of repentance. In the name of Jesus Christ --amen!
