Five major companies joined the FOX50 on Tuesday, highlighted by American icons Ford (NYSE:F) and JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM), each of which managed to excel despite extreme turmoil in their respective sectors.

"April 1 - yes, the same day as April Fool's Day - gas suppliers, by law, have to start moving summer grade fuel rather than winter grade. That move alone typically propels gas prices higher because the blends are more expensive to make. Add in seasonal demand from the summer driving season and - you get the picture -- higher prices."
