When I first got started as a lawyer, I had a lot of different options to choose from. I had just completed a clerkship with a federal judge and was on my way to joining a big-city firm doing big-city lawyer work. I did that for a few years before I realized that my calling was working with individuals facing problem that I could solve. I had a family member with a legal question in estate planning, and I got called in to help that extended family clean up some messes left by sub-standard estate planning.
At that moment, I understand what my calling was: I would help families have peace of mind by helping them get their ducks in a row with a plan that works when they needed it.
