Before the meetings, phone calls, deadlines, and responsibilities of a new week, Attorney Alecia Jones takes a moment to lead us in prayer.

A Power of Attorney is a legal document that allows someone you trust to act on your behalf in certain situations.

Depending on the type of POA, that person may be able to help manage your:

🏦 Financial matters
🏠 Property or business affairs
🩺 Medical decisions

But here’s something many people don’t realize: a Power of Attorney generally ends at death. It does not give someone authority to manage your estate after you pass away.

Estate planning isn’t only about what happens after death—it’s also about making sure the right people can step in while you’re living if you’re unable to handle things yourself.
