SEEKING LEAD PARALEGAL:
The Law Office of Laird & Associates is seeking an experienced family law paralegal / legal assistant to add to our team. Candidate must have at least 3 years experience in family law. Our office is located deep in the heart of Pasadena, Texas— also known as Pasa-get-down-dena—if you don’t know why—you will soon find out. 🙂.
We have a busy office and need a fearless individual with enough experience to jump right in and hit the ground running. We need an assistant who can work independently, problem solve and anticipate next steps in the flow of cases. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling / calendaring, communicating/corresponding with clients, gathering materials from clients and assisting in responding to and/or promulgating discovery requests, billing for your work, invoicing clients, preparing materials for mediations, hearings and trials—including assisting in court, when needed.
Applicant needs to be confident and comfortable with communicating with clients, court staff, professionals, and even with the Karen’s of the legal world.
This position is for a lead paralegal and director of client happiness. You will have your own office and work with two other legal assistants. The majority of our cases are in Harris, Galveston or Brazoria counties—although we do have cases in other outlying counties.

As far as software goes, we use: CLIO, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, TexDocs, Adobe, and Outlook.
Job Requirements:
1. YOU MUST BE an experienced family law para-professional. If you don’t have sufficient experience—please do not apply. 3 years experience minimum— 5 years or more preferred.
2. YOU MUST BE a high achiever, a multi-tasker, a positive thinker, and enthusiastic about
work
3. Highly motivated and someone that needs little supervision
5. Able to work in stressful environments and detail oriented to a very high degree
6. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS- You must be outgoing ,friendly and
professional—even in the face of “Karens”
7. Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
8. Some college is preferred
9. Bilingual is a plus but not a requirement
10. Experience with CLIO and/or TexDocs is also a plus—but not a requirement—if you are a quick learner!
11. Good sense of humor also a plus. We do like to laugh—often at each other.
Comfortable office environment—two conference rooms, snack /coffee bar, and full kitchen.
