The better the training, the better the legal defense!

Training requirements apply to all employers with at least five employees.
๐Ÿ“Œ Supervisors: 2 hours of harassment prevention training
๐Ÿ“Œ Nonsupervisory employees: 1 hour of training

๐Ÿ”‘ Key Requirements:
โ˜‘๏ธ Training must occur within six months of hire or promotion.
โ˜‘๏ธ All employees must be retrained every two years thereafter.

Seasonal/temporary employees (working less than 6 months) must be trained within 30 calendar days of hire or within 100 hours worked โ€” whichever comes first.

To prevent and correct harassment effectively, hereโ€™s what the law requires you to do:

โœ… Post Notices: Display the CRDโ€™s employment poster titled โ€œCalifornia Law Prohibits Workplace Discrimination and Harassment.โ€

โœ… Develop Prevention Policies: Your written policies must:
โžก๏ธ List all protected groups under the FEHA.
โžก๏ธ Clearly outline prohibited behaviors and provide guidance on acceptable workplace conduct.

โœ… Create a Complaint Process: Ensure employees have a straightforward way to report issues.

โœ… Distribute Your Policies: Make sure every employee receives and acknowledges them.

But hereโ€™s the thing โ€“ checking these boxes isnโ€™t enough. Your policies must be properly implemented, reinforced, and aligned with California law to truly protect your business. Make sure your employee handbook effectively supports your harassment policies!
