This position is available to those persons that recently passed the Kansas bar exam and those that received scores that are capable of being transferred into Kansas to obtain licensure. Applicants should be prepared to be involved in cases, working with clients and handling court appearances including litigation.

Nodine Legal, LLC is a general practice firm located in Parsons, Kansas. We are located in our new office space at 4301 W. Main St., Parsons, Kansas. We represent clients in Southeast Kansas in multiple areas of law including both litigation and transactional matters. We are seeking applicants for an associate attorney position which is primarily a litigation position with the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of cases including, but not limited to: property, family, criminal, business and decedent estates (probate). As a general practice office, applicants should be able to research and learn in different practice areas. While support is always available, applicants must be self-motivated and capable of handling their own cases from start to finish including all aspects of litigation. Applicants must be able to keep track of matters, research, enter information into case management, communicate and work in a cooperative office environment. Must be self-motivated and driven. Applicants must be proficient with computers as we are almost entirely paperless.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Requirements:
Must be an active, licensed Kansas attorney without disciplinary actions or capable of obtaining a temporary license pending full licensure. Those that passed the recent bar exam or those that obtained scores in other jurisdictions capable of transfer to Kansas and obtaining licensure are encouraged to apply.
Entry level position, no experience required.
Work/Education:
Undergraduate and J.D. required
Legal: No work experience in the legal field is required but is preferred.
Individuals with advanced trial advocacy training will be preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Position is based in Parsons, Kansas in a professional office. Some walking is required, travel by personal vehicle required, ability to lift and carry twenty-five pounds required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Litigation of own cases.
Must be able and willing to work as needed to competently handle client needs.
Research/drafting.
Client communications.
Evaluate cases and develop strategies.
Attend court and advocate for client's interests.
Always maintains a professional, friendly and calm demeanor.
Is familiar with and sensitive to the court rules, procedures and filing deadlines where firm practices.
Assist other staff members on additional projects when asked.
Handle specific issues for certain clients as directed by supervisor.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
