Hurricane Michael brought severe devastation to our area. But I’m happy to report that electricity has been restored to our building and we are set to re-open Monday, October 22, 2018. The stories I have witnessed are truly heart warming. Yesterday, I travelled to Bonifay, Florida to have a flat repaired. It was 4:45 and close to the tire shop closing. The gentleman stopped what he was going to fix my flat. While I waited, two older gentlemen stopped on HWY 79 to ask me where to drop off donations for hurricane victims. As if I were a local. They had one generator to donate. The lady inside the tire shop told them where to go. It may not have been much, but it was all they had and they gave it to those in need.
My friend from Destin who will remain unnamed because he wants to remain unnamed set up shop on St Joe Beach to cook free meals for those in need.
My friends from central Florida who remain unnamed because they want to who delivered generators, gasoline, water and other supplies to those in need.
To my life long friend who helped deliver those things to locals in need.
Amazing stories. All because they want to help. Even though they suffer too!!! A true testament to good people.
I tear up as I write this post, but know these are tears of joy because we will recover!
Thank you to all who have offered their support, whatever form of support that may be!
