The future of law may not be built by lawyers alone.

In the latest episode of The War Room: Disrupted, Modern Family Law CEO M. David Johnson talks with Tayler Bell, founder of Arizona ABS Law, about alternative business structures and why they could fundamentally change how legal services are delivered.

By allowing nonlawyers to invest in and own law firms under regulatory oversight, Arizona’s ABS model creates new opportunities to combine legal knowledge with technology, business leadership, and outside capital. The goal: expand access, lower costs, and build services around what clients need.

But not everyone welcomes that change. Are concerns about ABS firms truly about protecting the public, or is it more about protecting the traditional law firm model?

Listen to the full conversation for a candid look at regulation, AI, access to justice, and whether the legal profession is ready for what comes next.

Have you ever heard someone say, “The divorce came out of nowhere”?

In Episode 1 of The Family Brief, we ask a different question: Did it really?
Modern Family Law’s Tiffany Kahnen and Jasmine Bhatt are joined by Karen Covy, a divorce attorney, mediator, coach, author, and podcast host, for a conversation about what can happen long before someone asks for a divorce.

They talk about couples getting caught in the day-to-day routine, conversations becoming all about logistics, emotional distance growing, and the unique questions that can come with gray divorce after decades of marriage.

The conversation also looks at what happens next, like finding support, understanding what you can control, and beginning to build a new normal.
The takeaway? Distance can grow quietly. Paying attention and having the hard conversations sooner can matter.
