Prior to being an attorney, I was a musician.
As a classically trained double bassist, I had the honor of performing alongside artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Stevie Wonder, and Seal. I contributed to Grammy-nominated albums and was part of various Emmy Award–winning productions.
But from that experience, I learned something no law school class could teach: the entertainment industry is incredible, but it doesn't always take care of the people who create it.
I saw gifted artists sign agreements that didn't serve their best interests. I watched people pour their hearts and souls into their craft, only to lose ownership of it. The industry moves fast, and it doesn't always stop to ask if you're protected.
That's why I chose to become an entertainment attorney.
As the founding attorney of ESOLawFirm, I work with artists, musicians, and creatives to protect what they've built: their intellectual property, their brands, their contracts, and everything in between. My connection to this industry isn't just professional. It's personal.
This Sunday, I return to the stage with the Frost School of Music Symphonic Winds for "Grow," a performance centered on identity, resilience, and the force that keeps us moving forward. As a Frost School of Music alum, this one hits close to home.
