She was an active member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Palm Beach Area Board of Trustees, where she was appointed the Executive Committee Secretary, was a part of the annual Gala Host Committee for several years, was the 2014 Junior Gala Chair, and she previously attained the achievement of 2009 Woman of the Year for her fundraising efforts. We put so much thought into planning the wedding, but what about planning for the marriage? 💜

Marriage brings changes, challenges, and conversations that aren’t always easy to have.

Talk about money. Talk about expectations. Talk about your goals. Talk about what happens when life doesn’t go according to plan.

You don’t have to agree on everything, but you do need to be willing to have the conversations.

The things we avoid talking about rarely just disappear.

Divorce brings a lot of uncertainty for parents. But for kids, sometimes the biggest question is much simpler:

What’s happening next?

Where am I sleeping tonight?
When will I see Mom?
When will I see Dad?
What is tomorrow going to look like?

As adults, we’re carrying all the complicated pieces in the background. Our kids don’t need to carry those pieces with us.

What they do need is a plan they can understand.

A calendar. A consistent routine. A reminder that it’s only “two sleeps” until they see you again. Maybe even one small thing they can look forward to when they get to your house.

It doesn’t have to be extravagant. Sometimes an ice cream run, picking out a new book, or simply knowing what comes next is enough.

You may not be able to make every part of this transition easy, but you can make it feel a little more predictable.

And for a child going through a lot of change, that sense of stability can mean everything. 💜

Save this for the days when the transitions feel especially hard.

There are a million “what ifs” when you’re going through a divorce.

What if they refuse to cooperate?
What if they make an unreasonable decision?
What if they try to intimidate me?
What if everything doesn’t go according to plan?

Here’s what I tell my clients:

I can’t stop stupid. I can only defend against it. 🤷‍♀️

It usually gets a laugh, but there’s an important lesson behind it.

You cannot control every decision the other person makes. You cannot anticipate every scenario. And trying to prepare for every possible “what if” will leave you exhausted before you’ve even dealt with what’s actually happening.

What you can control is how you respond.

Stay focused. Stay informed. Know what deserves your energy—and what doesn’t.

There will be moments in this process when you don’t feel completely in control. That’s normal. The goal isn’t to predict every possible problem.

It’s to be prepared to handle the problem in front of you.

And sometimes, that starts with accepting one simple truth:

You can’t stop stupid.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of attending two meaningful milestones in our legal community: the investiture of Judge Dane Leitner on September 18 and the investiture of Judge Marci Rex on October 2.

An investiture is more than a ceremony. It is an opportunity to recognize the responsibility, service, and commitment that come with serving on the bench.

It was an honor to celebrate Judge Leitner and Judge Rex alongside colleagues and members of our legal community as they begin this important chapter of judicial service.

Last week, I had the opportunity to hear incredibly insightful conversations surrounding infidelity, menopause, relationships, and intimacy; topics that can deeply impact individuals, marriages, and families.

While my work is rooted in marital and family law, understanding the emotional and relational dynamics people experience is just as important. Continuing to learn from experts in adjacent fields gives me a broader perspective that I can bring back to my own practice and the people I serve.

Divorce doesn’t always hit you all at once.

Sometimes you’ve already emotionally accepted that the marriage is over, but then the financial reality sets in. Other times, you’re trying to process the end of the marriage while also making major decisions about your financial future.

That last situation can be especially difficult because you’re being asked to make clear, practical decisions at a time when you may not feel very clear at all.

This is something I see often as a Florida divorce attorney. My job isn’t to tell you, “You’re going to be okay,” and leave it at that. It’s to help you understand your circumstances, look at the financial information in front of us, and work through what your next chapter could realistically look like.

Because where you are emotionally can have a very real impact on how you approach the decisions in your divorce.

My grandmother used to say, “When money goes out the window, so does love.” And the older I get, the more I understand what she meant.

Financial stress in a marriage is rarely just about the money. It can become about trust, communication, resentment, and whether you still feel like you’re on the same team.

There’s also a big difference between fighting with each other and fighting for your marriage.

Talk about the finances. Have the uncomfortable conversations. Stay connected to what’s happening in each other’s lives.

Because sometimes the financial problem is only part of the problem.

Momentous day! 💜

September 9, 2026 marked an incredibly meaningful milestone in my career: I officially became President of the Jewish Lawyers Association of Palm Beach County.

I had the privilege of celebrating this moment surrounded by my family, 20 members of the state and federal judiciary, elected officials, VBA leaders, college friends, my favorite UF History professor, and an incredible Board of Directors.

It was also a historic evening for our organization as we passed the presidential torch and presented our first-ever Tzedek Award to our Chapter Founder, Gary Lesser, in recognition of his leadership, service, and commitment to our community.

I’m deeply honored to step into this role and incredibly inspired by the people who have helped build this organization into what it is today. I’m excited for everything we will accomplish together in the year ahead.

Your homes do not need to look the same or operate exactly the same. What matters most is that your child feels safe, loved, and comfortable being themselves in both places.
