Received a phone call at the office today from a David Lopez who claimed to work for the Illuminating Company and stated that technicians would arrive in 45 minutes to disconnect our electricity due to being 2 months behind in paying our bill. He said we needed to call 866-907-6255 to make immediate payment to avoid a shut off. I politely told the gentleman that our office is located in Painesville City and we pay for our electric service through the City of Painesville. He then told me that the City buys the electric from the Illuminating Company and we owed them money. Then he hung up. Watch out for scams people! First Energy does not call minutes before a disconnection to shake you down.

HB 14 proposes significant changes to Ohio's child custody laws. We'll be keeping a close eye on this bill.

A bill automatically giving parents 50-50 child custody has been reintroduced in the Ohio House and already has some of the same opposition as a similar proposal that was introduced during the last general assembly.
