The consequences of a s*x crime in Kentucky may be severe, including potential jail time and the requirement to register as a s*x offender.

There are primary categories of s*xually related crimes. These include:

Po*******hy: Typically relates to s*xually explicit videos, photographs or images, and more. Using and distributing explicit content of children, emailing/texting s*xual contact, and “revenge pornography” after a relationship ends can also all be considered a crime.

Sexual Assault: A victim has been violently abused s*xually without in*******se, or the victim was forced to perform a s*xual act or engage in unwanted s*xual behaviors.

R**e and Date R**e: R**e is the act of s*xual aggression where the victim did not give consent to s*xual in*******se or is unable to give consent because of their age, physical state, or mental capacity.

Do you know the difference between a divorce, annulment, and legal separation?

Divorce: The most common way a couple chooses to separate. In Kentucky, you do not have to show that one spouse caused the marriage to end, only that there’s an “irretrievable breakdown.”

Annulment: Makes the marriage invalid, as if it never happened. Specific circumstances must be met to have this as an option, like if one or both spouses were under the age of 18 when the marriage occurred.

Legal Separation: You are still legally married to your spouse, but you are living separately.

In Kentucky, murder is when a person intentionally causes the death of another person. Homicide is the umbrella term that refers to any kind of killing, whether criminal or not. There are Four types of criminal homicide charges here in Kentucky:

1st-Degree Murder: Highest level of criminal homicide; imposed if the killing was intentional and preplanned.

2nd-Degree Murder: Like 1st-degree, but without premeditation.

Voluntary Manslaughter: Referred to as “heat of the moment” killings.

Involuntary Manslaughter: Least severe level of criminal homicide; unintentional killing that was the result of negligent or reckless actions.

Murder is a capital offense, and you could be sentenced to death. It can also have a sentencing of life in prison without possibility of parole, or 20 - 50 years in state prison.

Murder charges are complex, that’s why Evan Taylor Law Office PSC is prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. Contact us today for experienced and assertive representation.

During a divorce, the couple must divide their property—assets, money, debts, and liabilities—accrued during the marriage equitably.

Assets and property owned by the couple are categorized as either marital property or separate property.

Marital Property: All assets, property, and debts acquired by either or both spouses during the marriage. It is subject to equitable division during divorce in Kentucky.

Separate Property: Any asset and property acquired, or debt incurred by one of the spouses before their marriage. It is typically not subject to property division.

Property and debt division can be the most complicated part of a divorce. Evan Taylor Law Office PSC is prepared to guide you through the process and understand your unique situation. Contact us today for a case assessment.

To be eligible for divorce in Kentucky, you and your spouse must live in the state for at least 180 days. You and your spouse must also live apart (which can still mean living under the same roof) for at least 60 days.

Some states require you to provide a specific reason for why the marriage is ending. In Kentucky, this is not required. If the marriage is no longer working, then the grounds for divorce would simply be “the marriage is irretrievably broken” with no fault to either spouse.

If you are considering divorce, contact Evan Taylor Law Office PSC for affordable and quality legal representation.

In Kentucky, intentionally causing someone's death is considered murder. It can also be considered murder if you're driving and cause someone's death.

But remember, there are exceptions. If you were under extreme emotional disturbance or circumstances that could lead to a death, it might not be charged as murder.

There are two common ways of defending murder. First, it could have been a mistaken identity—the prosecution accused the wrong person. Second, a justification of the crime could be present—the person killed someone in a manner that can be rationalized or justified.

Murder is an incredibly serious offense. Contact Evan Taylor Law Office PSC for quality and strategic representation if you or a loved one has been charged with murder.

A DUI, or driving under the influence, is a serious charge that occurs when a driver is under the influence of any substance that affects their ability to drive.

The most common way to be charged is to drive with a blood or breath alcohol content of 0.08% or higher.

In Kentucky, you can be charged with a DUI if:

The presence of a controlled substance is detected in your blood within 2 hours of driving.

Being under the combined influence of alcohol and any other substance impairs your driving ability.

BAC of 0.02% or greater within 2 hours of driving if you are under the age of 21.

If you are facing a DUI charge, contact Evan Taylor Law PSC for efficient and aggressive representation.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Matt. We are so happy we could help you fight for what was right.

“I needed a legal Pitbull to represent me in a trial, filed at the very last minute by political opponents, to have my name struck from the ballot after five months of campaigning. In the end, Evan made a mockery of our opposition, and we won our case. Evan fights for what's right. That's what drives him to be in this profession.” - Matt G.
