🏰 A car accident can happen anywhere—even on Disney property.
If you’re involved in a crash during your Disney vacation, you may suddenly have questions:
🚗 Who do you call?
📋 Does Disney Security make an official crash report?
📸 Could there be surveillance footage?
🏥 What if you’re injured but don’t feel it right away?
✈️ What if you’re visiting Florida from out of state?
Here are a few important steps to remember:
➡️ Call 911 if anyone is injured, there is significant vehicle damage, traffic is blocked, or you’re unsure what to do.
➡️ Document everything. Get photos of the vehicles, damage, roadway, signs, and surrounding area. Exchange information with the other driver.
➡️ Get medical attention. Adrenaline can mask pain, and some injuries may not become apparent until hours or even days later. If you’re a Florida resident, remember that PIP generally requires medical treatment within 14 days of the crash.
➡️ Be careful what you say. Avoid admitting fault or giving a recorded statement before you understand your rights and the circumstances of the accident.
➡️ Preserve your evidence. A Disney-area accident may involve security reports, surveillance footage, rental vehicles, rideshare companies, out-of-state drivers, or other parties.
And if you're visiting from out of state, you may not have to return to Florida to handle your claim. Many aspects of an injury claim can be handled remotely.
A Disney vacation should be about making memories—not dealing with insurance companies and injury claims. If a crash changes your plans, knowing what to do next can make a difficult situation a little less overwhelming.
