Winnebago County Teen Court - Wisconsin

Winnebago County Teen Court - Wisconsin Diversion Program Winnebago County Teen Court is a program for youth ages 12 to 16 who have committed an ordinance violation or a misdemeanor crime.

Youth may choose to come to Teen Court instead of paying a fine and/or appearing in Juvenile Court. The youth offenders must admit to the offense in order to be eligible for Teen Court. It is the task of the youth jury to determine an appropriate sentence that the youth offender must serve. All of the participants in the Teen Court process are youth except for the judge. s, defense attorneys, clerks, bailiffs, and jury members are trained to hear the arguments from the youth offender and parents, and deliberate to arrive at a sentence that is both fair and appropriate to the crime.
