About McCleer Law Office

Attorney Joe McCleer founded McCleer Law Office, LLC in Oshkosh in 2018 to address an increasing need within the Oshkosh community. While long-term care costs in the Oshkosh area are the third-highest in the entire state, with the average cost of a private nursing home room topping $9,500 per month*, very few attorneys in Oshkosh specialize in Elder Law or even practice it to any extent.

Joe practices exclusively in the areas of Elder Law and Estate Planning. He offers assistance and support to persons of every age and walk of life; whether you are young parents looking to ensure the well-being of your children if you were to pass unexpectedly, or empty-nesters now looking to ensure that your family will avoid probate after you pass, or retirees beginning to concern yourselves with the possibility of taking on immense long-term care costs.

Joe is a member of both ElderCounsel, the premier nationwide member services support organization focusing on Elder Law and Special Needs, and the Wisconsin Council of Estate Planning Attorneys. Prior to beginning his practice in Elder Law and Estate Planning, Joe practiced as a Child Welfare attorney in Milwaukee and as a public prosecutor in Tucson, Arizona. Joe received his B.A. from Michigan State University in 2003 and J.D. from the University of Arizona in 2009, graduating Cum Laude from both schools.

When not at work, Joe spends his time with his family. He has two beautiful young children and a wonderfully supportive and loving wife, Adriana. When not discussing the law, Joe will gladly discuss the finer details of the Beatles, football, or movies.
