The city government blamed my client for her child’s untimely death. Once our firm was retained, the city claimed to not know anything about the improper design of the crosswalk and the inoperable traffic control device. After we filed our lawsuit and hired our experts, the city caved and decided to pay their 200k sovereign immunity coverage limit. The driver’s insurance company tendered its 50k limit and two other companies that didn’t have any liability, but were initially named in the lawsuit, paid 20k, collectively, to be released from the lawsuit.

In other words, hire Simon Law Group people!

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement owes my clients an explanation for how Mr. Days’ neck was cut, in his home, during a warrantless planned search, from ear to ear, while being retrained in handcuff behind his back. The pictures do not lie!!!!!

20 years before the medical examiner’s office realized they didn’t release all of my client’s son’s remains! They didn’t check a bin for 20 years? You cannot make this stuff up. Stomping for justice for more of our clients.

As an attorney that handles mortuary disputes over human remains, just like this, and a funeral professional owning a funeral home, I’ve seen this happen over and over again: families fighting for the right to final disposition of a love one’s body.

This could happen to any of us. It is important that we designate who has the right to carry out final disposition arrangements and what your wishes are. I’m sure the late councilman never once thought that the people he loved most would one day be fighting with one another during a time they need each other the most to support each other as they honor his life and legacy.
