Not every family law case needs to end in a courtroom.

Mediation gives you and the other party an opportunity to work through the issues, negotiate solutions, and reach an agreement with the help of a neutral mediator.

It can give you more control over the outcome while potentially saving time, stress, and the cost of prolonged litigation.

In this reel, we’re breaking down what mediation is, how it works, and why it may be an option worth considering for your case.

Have questions about whether mediation is right for you? Talk to our team to learn more.

Grandparents in Florida often assume they have automatic visitation rights — but the law says otherwise.

Florida courts protect a fit parent's right to make decisions about their child, which means grandparent visitation is only available in narrow, specific circumstances. Foster care and dependency cases are the exception, but even those rights are temporary.

Don't meet the legal criteria? That doesn't mean the relationship is over — mediation and documented involvement can still preserve your bond.

Swipe for what the law actually says.

We’re so excited to welcome Tenesia as our new Senior Attorney in October!

With 25 years of family law experience in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit, Tenesia has spent her career guiding families through life’s toughest moments, most recently as Family Law Litigation Director at the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association.

Her practice focuses on contested litigation, domestic violence matters, paternity actions, and dissolution of marriage, and she brings genuine care to every single case.

Fun fact: Tenesia currently serves as Chair of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar (2026 to 2027), the first attorney in her professional category to hold this role in the Section’s 53-year history. She leads over 4,000 members statewide and helps shape the family law forms used across Florida.

Outside the office, you’ll find her traveling or lost in a good audiobook.

Welcome to the family, Tenesia. We’re lucky to have you!
