“Should I move to Raleigh or Durham?”

Before I answer, I have questions.

Where will you work? What do you want nearby? Does “walkable” mean grabbing coffee, getting groceries, or having somewhere pleasant to take an evening walk?

Those answers help us compare actual neighborhoods.

A whole city is a pretty big thing to recommend to someone whose routine I don’t know yet. And somebody else’s favorite part of the Triangle might be completely wrong for you.

My approach: figure out what matters, compare specific areas, then narrow the home search.

Sometimes the most useful thing your agent can say is, “Let’s slow down.”

You love the house. I want to understand what you might be overlooking because you love it.

Does it actually meet the priorities you started with? Which compromises are reasonable? Which ones will still bother you six months after the excitement wears off?

My job is to keep those questions in the conversation, even when the kitchen is gorgeous and you’re already choosing a couch.
