I had the pleasure of meeting and marrying this lovely couple. were married for 25 prior but this past Saturday decided to give it another go. It was an honor to cover this one for a fellow officiant.

It has been a few weeks since I left Vegas and was so worth it for me.

The story leading to these photos of this elopement will give me laughs endlessly. The couple was lovely but the story behind getting to this part of the beach will forever be engraved in my brain.

Full transparency:

While the ceremony itself went smoothly, I had reoccurring thoughts about what to wear and how it would be received... even though the bride insisted I dress comfortably. 🤦🏾‍♀️

You see, this is the first ceremony I'd ever worn my wrap to. I was a ball of nerves, though no one could tell it. I was kicking myself for forgetting to take it off on the car ride over.
•
I remember stepping into the beach and having a conversation with myself... I said that if I was going to do this, I was going to show up as my authentic self. So I stood there 😅 BAKING in my wrap 😭 and managed to perform the ceremony AND train a mentee at the same time!
•
If you're still with me 🧐... All of that to say, the things you may feel are taboo others may not give a *beep* about! Believe in the value you bring and let that determine your flow. Go as you are, you can never end up in the wrong place if the Creator sent you. 😉

Officiating ceremonies in correctional facilities is not talked about enough! I had the honor of performing a ceremony in Moore Haven last year and it was a unique experience.

I've noticed many officiants shy away from ceremonies that are not full of the glitz and glam that some feel a wedding should be. However looking at these smiles and remembering the happiness of this couple, I hold an opinion that is not so popular.
•
It's more about serving the couples and less about my opinion on how and where they choose to celebrate. As an officiant I take all love seriously including that which may be unorthodox to some.
•
I wanted to celebrate 🥂 these two because weather behind bars or not the love and happiness is the real deal! 💍 💒
•

A wedding pro knows that answering the call is more important than the call itself. Now, opinions may vary and I know y'all like to tussle... BUT, what you do or don't do for your business will directly affect the results you received.

It's not about the likes or the follows, it's about your couples. Get a mentor or entrance your skills to be ready when the call comes.

I just love messages like this!! The mother of the bride made it her business to email me to NOT only thank me for my services BUT to check on any remaining balances. I mean seriously can they clone her?! 🥺

I'm not one to perform a ceremony without the balance being paid in full however I can appreciate her due diligence and wanting to compensate me properly for my services.

All of that to say when you know your worth, people will value you as well! Know you're worth and tax it!! Happy officiating people!
