Dear friends and colleagues,

Since today is a day of announcements I am thrilled to announce that I have accepted a position as Counsel for the Southeast Region with Latino Justice PRLDEF beginning June 5th. As someone who is deeply committed to protecting constitutional rights and ensuring that justice is served for all, I couldn't be more excited to join this organization and fight for the rights of marginalized communities.

Latino Justice has been at the forefront of the civil rights movement for over 50 years, and I am honored to have the opportunity to work alongside such a distinguished and respected organization. Latino Justice's pillars of Economic Justice, Immigrants' Rights, Voting Rights, Criminal Justice Reform, Leadership Development, and Puerto Rico align perfectly with my own values and priorities, and I am excited to contribute to these efforts in a meaningful way.

It is more important than ever to stand up for what we believe in and fight against the unjust laws and policies that threaten the rights and freedoms of so many. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to use my skills and expertise to make a positive impact.

I look forward to working alongside the talented and dedicated team at Latino Justice to make a difference and create a more just and equitable society. Thank you for your support!

We are excited to announce the performance of a mini solo classical guitar concert by UCF Guitar Professor Eladio Scharrón at our PRBAF Board Installation Ceremony on March 31, 2023.

Eladio Scharrón was born in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico into a family of guitarists well known in the island. He is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico where he studied with guitarist-composer Ernesto Cordero.

Dr. Scharrón has won numerous awards and competitions, among them, the Concurso de Guitarra de la Casa the España in Puerto Rico, the International Guitar Competition of Sable Sur Sarthe in France, and the Reynolds Musical Award. He has also been invited to prestigious guitar festivals like the Brussels Guitar Festival, the International Guitar Festival of Puerto Rico and New York’s Música de Cámara among others.

The mini concert (15 - 25 minutes) will include the following work (tentatively):

Norteña, Jorge Gomez-Crespo (Argentina)
Etude 1 and Choros 1, Heitor Villa-Lobos (Brazil)
Pasillo and Albazo, Terry Pazmiño (Ecuador)
Venezuelan Waltzes, Yacambú and Natalia – Antonio Lauro – Venezuela
Tres Preludios, José Rodríguez Alvira (Puerto Rico)
Fragmentos (Variations on a plena), Miguel Cubano (Puerto Rico)
La Catedral, Agustín Barrios Mangoré (Paraguay)
