Starting January 1, 2027, Illinois law will expand domestic violence protections to cover tech-facilitated abuse, including hidden GPS trackers, account hacking, doxxing, and unauthorized photo sharing. The new law also allows remote court hearings so victims can seek Orders of Protection without facing their abuser in person.
