Night lights and cityscapes 🏙️
After marrying 7 years ago, Cory and Ed moved to Las Vegas. Four years ago, they returned to Utah and bought their first home in Daybreak and they loved living there. Cory works from home so the occasional drive to the airport wasn't a big deal. Ed, however, had been commuting across the Salt Lake Valley to his job at the U of U hospital and the time spent in traffic had become burdensome. They both love to travel, shop, and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle and they love the energy the city life offers.
Finding a place closer to the hospital was the goal.
They also wanted to keep their home at Daybreak as an investment property and stay within a specific budget with the new property. We found an amazing condo in the heart of SLC. Not only would they be in the heart of the city, but they also found a property with a fantastic view. The condo was priced at the top of their price range and we weren't sure how the numbers would work, and their upcoming travel schedule gave them limited time in Utah to oversee the details of the transaction.
With rising interest rates and the sizeable down payment required, we were uncertain if we could even meet their goals. We connected with one of our trusted lender partners to understand all of the moving parts that go into financing. Not only were Cory and Ed able to lock their interest rate at exactly the right time, but their travel schedule left a window of three days right about the time we needed to close.
They spent several weeks during the escrow period in Japan. It was important to them that the deadlines were respected and their earnest money not be put at risk while they were gone. Good communication and coordination between their agent, Glenna, the lender, and the listing agent, ensured things progressed smoothly. Upon their return, they were able to sign papers on their new place before taking off on a trip for a month. We managed the details of the process so they could have a smooth transition to their next phase of life.
Now Ed and Cory are waking up to a beautiful view, short commute times, and planning their next trip!!!
